Pen Store: The art of optimizing warehouse management
About Pen Store
Pen Store was founded in 2010 by Jacob Bergström as an online store. Eventually, Pen Store expanded to a physical location in Södermalm, Stockholm. Since then, the brand has made an indelible mark on the Nordic market with its supply of pens and art materials.
Today, Pen Store stocks 13,000 unique items, ranging from individual pens and brushes to canvases and easels. Fast delivery of their well-curated range of "tools for creativity," along with a focus on excellent customer service, has helped them build a loyal customer base. Pen Store's warehouse is located in Västberga, south of Stockholm.
With its growing popularity and ever-increasing demand, the need for a sophisticated inventory management solution became evident. By implementing Bitlog WMS, Pen Store has seamlessly integrated the in-store experience with its website, laying the foundation for continuous development of its inventory management.
"We now know that we have a system we can rely on throughout the entire process."

Solution
Pen Store chose Bitlog WMS because the platform could provide all the e-commerce features they needed without requiring any customizations.
Since Bitlog is cloud-based, it is continuously updated based on user feedback, offering a future-proof solution that is easy to scale.
Integrating Bitlog with the webshop and ERP (enterprise resource planning) was quick and straightforward, and the staff found the intuitive Bitlog app easy to learn. Within just a few days, the Pen Store team was ready to master the art of digital warehouse operations.

Results
By switching to Bitlog WMS, Pen Store achieved many of their inventory management goals and discovered some unexpected ways to leverage the platform.
Despite offering a wide range of fine paper for artists, Pen Store has eliminated paper pick lists in the warehouse. Bitlog's iPad app guides staff through the warehouse and supports batch picking (picking multiple orders), significantly reducing the pick time per order.
Faster and more accurate goods reception is another area where Pen Store has achieved some of its greatest gains with Bitlog. Instead of manual data entry, the warehouse team can now simply scan barcodes on incoming goods and place them in the correct location in the warehouse.
For outgoing orders, barcode scanning during picking ensures the right product is sent to customers. The inventory balance updates automatically, saving a lot of time on stock checks and helping to minimize the risk of selling something out of stock via the webshop.
The Pen Store team is always looking for new, creative ways to satisfy their customers. With complete control over their inventory, they are ready to continue their journey and expand other parts of the organization. We look forward to being part of and following their progress.
